These draft Terms describe how Readwith works today. They are placeholders for review before public launch and will be replaced by counsel-approved language.
1.Acceptance
By creating an account or using Readwith, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these Terms; continued use after a posted change means you accept the revised Terms.
2.The service
Readwith is a private reading room: you bring your own books, read in the app, and may Discuss with a per-book companion when credits allow.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
3.Accounts
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account.
Provide accurate information and keep your email reachable. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or violate these Terms.
4.Your books
You upload books you have the right to use. You retain your rights to your files; you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display them so the reading room and companion can work.
Do not upload content you are not allowed to share. We may remove material that appears unlawful or infringing.
5.Discuss with your companion
Companions are AI assistants grounded in our book knowledge and your reading progress. They can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly phrased — treat them as a conversation partner, not an authority.
Companion knowledge is spoiler-aware based on progress we record. You should still use judgment about spoilers.
6.Credits and billing
Discuss uses Readwith credits. Free and paid tiers, rates, and soft stops are described on our pricing materials.
Reading is never locked when credits hit zero. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by our payment provider; refunds follow their and our posted policies once finalized.
7.Acceptable use
Do not misuse Readwith: no scraping at scale, no attempts to break security, no harassment via the product, and no use that violates law.
We may investigate and take action, including account suspension, when we believe these rules are broken.
8.Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using Readwith you acknowledge that policy.
9.Disclaimers and liability
Readwith is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Our liability is limited as permitted by law. Nothing in these draft Terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer law.
10.Changes
We may revise these Terms. Material changes will be posted with an updated date. For significant changes we may also notify you in-product or by email when practical.
